It may seem like an odd time of year to get out the clubs, but this Thursday, February 19, 2009, Irish Construction Company will be joining MSU representatives and Mayotte Group Architects for an afternoon on the green. Well, maybe not ON the GREEN. The project team will be the first users of MSU's recently completed Forest Akers Driving Range Enclosure, an extended-season golf facility complete with individual driving lanes and unit heaters that will allow the University's most committed golf athletes countless extra hours of practice year-round. The current building design anticipates future expansion for added driving lanes and press-box space. Ceremonies will commence at 3pm within the enclosure, beginning with a ribbon-cutting and finishing with a defiant volley of golf balls into the cold Michigan tundra.
